The word "Maundy" comes from the Latin mandatum, meaning "commandment." After Jesus washed his disciples' feet on the first Maundy Thursday, he said, "A new command I give you: Love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another. By this everyone will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another" (John 13). We will have a traditional Maundy Thursday meal, receive the Lord's Supper, and recount the story of Jesus' final week before his crucifixion. Be ready to get your feet wet!
